The mission of Birk Grove Life Centre is to provide a comprehensive care program for women with fibromyalgia.
The lifestyle management program is designed to improve the quality of life of clients through a multi-disciplinary approach of therapeutic treatment, pain reduction techniques and wellness programs.
Fibromyalgia is a chronic condition characterized by widespread pain in the muscles, ligaments and tendons, as well as fatigue, sleep difficulties and cognitive/memory deficits. Leading theories focus on the condition’s etiology on the central nervous system.

The multi-disciplinary approach provides research-based techniques which are used through all aspects of medical and wellness treatments. The key to this innovative program is the customized, client-focused treatment.
Clients are first referred to Birk Grove Life Centre by a physician. Clients then are seen by our Nurse Practitioner. After a medical, psychological and physical therapy evaluation, each client is presented with individualized recommendations made by each discipline based on the client’s specific needs. Clients then begin their personalized 4, 6 or 8 week program with physician-supervised curriculum and receive support during the, Intensive Outpatient Program, or IOP. Clients who are unable to participate in a 4, 6 or 8 week program will complete the medical evaluation and then are eligible to participate in many of the services available at Birk Grove. Additional programs are also available to accommodate clients living outside of the western Kentucky area.
